It all started on Newbury Street
Melissa Pease spent the beginning of her career in a salon on Newbury Street, serving Boston's elite clients as a master colorist. It was there that she combined her passion for the artistry of hair color with her love of creating community through her diverse clientele.
She loved working as a colorist, and was voted the Best in Boston Hair Colorist by the Improper Bostonian.
But then an opportunity came along that she couldn't pass up.
Teaching ARTISTS AROUND THE WORLD
A global hair care brand asked Melissa to become a color educator, which provided her with the opportunity to teach stylists the art of hair color. She later went on to work with boutique color brands and spent 16 years educating stylists around the world.
During this time, Melissa continued her own education. She trained in precision cutting through Vidal Sassoon and in a Free Form cutting Method as taught by Masaki Inoue. She learned the art of blending Color and Cut in Harmony.
Bringing High-End Hair Care to Metrowest Boston
After years of travel, in 2016, Melissa realized that she wanted to plant some roots closer to home. Her vision was to create a salon that offers a team, based culture with a mission to create sustainable beauty.
In 2018 and 2019, 2020 and 2021 Hair in Harmony was ranked the #1 salon in Maynard by readers of Wicked Local. The salon continues to grow today, attracting some of the top beauty talent in Metrowest Boston.
In July of 2021, Hair in Harmony moved to the new Maynard Crossing Plaza on the border of Sudbury and Maynard. Now Melissa spends her time mentoring and supporting her team. She no longer works behind her chair but can be found jumping in to help with a color or a cut as her team needs. Our clients being happy means the world to her.
Part of the team-based experience at Hair in Harmony is that everyone helps each other achieve the looks that our clients want. You will see us asking each other what they think on the regular. Think of your visits as not only having the one stylist working on you but all of us looking out to make sure that you leave happy. Should you not be able to get an appointment with your favorite stylist, know that we all share our formulas and tips so that you can feel comfortable sitting in another team members chair!
Iliana, Stylist | Metal Level 4 Stylist
Iliana is a longtime Maynard-based stylist who specializes in long hair, precision bobs, highlights and color. She always takes the time to listen carefully to her clients so that they get the hair they’ve been dreaming of. Iliana is highly sought after and books out 3-4 weeks in advance! Allyssa, Senior Stylist | Fire Level 5 Stylist
Allyssa brings over 15 years of experience in color, hair design, and makeup. She is certified in formaldehyde-free Keratin and smoothing treatments. She is also a certified Educator with Bhave USA. Allyssa loves to learn and especially loves to share her knowledge with fellow stylist. She is a technical trainer for our salon team as well. Allyssa is a very busy stylist and books out 6-8 weeks in advance. Outside of work, she enjoys singing, theater, Jiu Jitsu and spending time with animals. Nancy| Earth Level 3 Stylist
Nancy brings 40 years of experience to Hair in Harmony. She loves working with her clients and she showers them with her warmth and positivity. She remains current in this ever-changing industry by participating in continuing education seminars in New York and Boston. Nancy loves to travel, cook, and play golf.
Sam | Metal Level 4 Stylist
Sam has been with our team for over 3 years. She has developed specialized skills in Balayage, highlighting and vivid color placement. Her Balayage technique has been perfected and is customized for each individual client. She is a great listener and always does her best to achieve the looks that her clients want. Sam also specializes in corrective color work. If you want to go from light to dark or work your way from Dark to Light, she takes her time and keeps your hair health in top priority. Her cutting skills are great as well. She is strong in short hair, Long Hair and creative hair cutting. She has a specialized internal layering technique that works well for curly hair and fine hair.

Kiara | Wood Level 2 Stylist
Kiara has been a stylist for over 3 years now. She joined our team in early 2022. She specializes in Haircutting. She’s great with clipper cuts. Her patience and artistic eye make her great with color and highlights as well. Her genuine personality keeps clients coming back. The light of her life is her little girl. She just loves to share stories about her.
